Gene People celebrates their first anniversary!

Gene People is launching its new three-year strategy

June is the first anniversary of  Gene People rebranding from Genetic Disorders UK, marking a new structure, a refreshed focus and a renewed determination to respond to the needs of those affected by rare genetic conditions. Gene People is launching its new three-year strategy as well as reminding supporters and stakeholders about a number of exciting initiatives that have started this the year.

‘It has been a challenging year for Gene People,’ commented Alastair Kent, Chair of trustees. ‘Rebranding, restructuring and refocusing a charity in the middle of a pandemic is not ideal but it has been worth it. We have put firm foundations in place that will serve Gene People and our community well as we continue.’

The three-year strategy has been formulated with input from Gene People’s Partnership Network Advisory Panel and is published on 6th June.

‘The actual day of our launch  was 2nd June 2021. We decided that we should step aside from publishing our new strategy on that day this year because of the Platinum Jubilee,’ states Samantha Barber, CEO of Gene People. ‘We felt that our anniversary was the right time to launch our strategy as it cements the work of the previous 12 months and sets out our plans for the coming months. It is our statement of intent of all that we want to achieve for our community.

‘We are grateful to every person and institution that has supported our work during the year. We look forward to continuing to work with you to change lives.’

The strategy has been published on the Gene People website today 6th June 2022 Other announcements will be made through out June on the social media channels: @GenePeopleUK, and
